I WANT A ROBOT

written by Connie Kaldor and Roy Forbes

performed by Heather Bishop, Don Benedictson and Al Simmons

"Oh!  Here's the bus!.  Hey, what's that?  What a funny looking dude.  A short guy like me."

"NO LIFE FORMS PRESENT."

"What?"

"NO LIFE FORMS PRESENT"

"What?  No life forms present?!  Whaddya mean?  Hey, wait up bud!  Hey!"

"ATTENTION"

"Hey!"

"ATTENTION"

"Hey!  Hey!  Do you know the way to Central Park?"

"TAKE EVASIVE ACTION"

"Whaddya mean?  Hey!  Whaddaya want?"

I want a robot -- I want a robot

I wish one would follow me home

I want a robot -- a teeny-weeny robot

A robot to call my own

Someone to go to bed when I don't wanna go

To brush my teeth at night

Someone to find the sock underneath the bed

To keep the lid on the honey bucket tight

I want a robot -- I want a robot

I wish one would follow me home

I want a robot -- a teeny-weeny robot

A robot to call my own

Someone to eat my spinach -- yuck

My liver or my brussel sprouts  -- uhl

Someone to keep the mud out of my boots

To do the dishes and to take the garbage out

(Would you take out that garbage?!)

I want a robot -- I want a robot

I wish one would follow me home

I want a robot -- a teeny-weeny robot

A robot to call my own

I'd give that thing a little robot name

Like, "Emma"...

"Emma?"

Or maybe, "Orgon"...

"Orgon?"

Or how 'bout, "Fred"...

"Fred -- yeah, that's a nice name."

And every time I whistle it would come around

And it would do everything that I said

I want a robot -- I want a robot

I wish one would follow me home

I want a robot -- a teeny-weeny robot

A robot to call my own

I WANT A HUMAN -- I WANT A HUMAN

I WISH ONE WOULD FOLLOW ME HOME

I WANT A HUMAN -- A TEENY-WEENY HUMAN

A HUMAN TO CALL MY OWN

I want a robot -- I want a robot

I wish one would follow me home

I want a robot -- a teeny-weeny robot

A robot to call my own

I'd spend my whole allowance on batteries

If a robot would follow me home

Follow me home!

"That Fred!  Boy!  I never met anybody like him before.  He's really something.  Boy..."
