WHAT'S NEW ARCHIVES June 3, 2003: Catch the sights and sounds of Connie's birthday celebration in a special "Live Track Of The Month" section, starting with "The Birthday Song" (of course) and featuring two exclusive bonus tracks. Also, new Connie and Hart Rouge song samples in the discography section. Now it's easier than ever to find and purchase all the music featured on this site with new picture-links and tips featured in Where To Find Albums. We've added 10 new entries to the Band Members Past And Present section. They are mostly musicians who performed on "Gentle of Heart" who were inadvertently left out when this section premiered. Also, my deepest apologies to Carmen Campagne, who was egregiously not listed originally. She only sang and arranged half of "Lullaby Berceuse"! For anyone who's ever noticed the Maria McKee samples in the links section, we've changed the songs listed from each album and added a song clip from her brand new album, "High Dive".
April 13, 2003: Leave your greetings for Connie's 50th birthday to be presented to her on a large card on or around May 9th. All messages must be received by April 30th. New Connie and Hart Rouge clips, and Live Track of the Month.
March 14, 2003: As always, we have new Connie song clips on the discography page (many of them containing the full song), Hart Rouge song clips (including Dodo la planéte do), and a Live Track Of The Month for those of you who've had it with this winter and want to get away... If you wish you were in Ireland this Saint Patrick's Day but the closest you can come to it is an extra bowl of Lucky Charms for breakfast, take heart. Connie's never been there either. Listen to "Never Been To Ireland" with a special live introduction from the "Love Is A Truck" listing in the discography. Back by popular demand: The Saskatchewan Slideshow. Enjoy original photos from my excursion last summer from different parts of the province, with musical accompaniment from Connie. And as many of you are planning your 2003 vacations, I've added links to cultural, recreational and general interest sites that I hope will show that Saskatchewan is more than just a long stretch between Winnipeg and Calgary. "Come Back Little Sheba" -- well, you'll just have to click on the section to get the gin on that -- hmm, probably a poor choice of words... Send your birthday greetings fro Connie with other fan's messages at Special Greetings
February 3, 2003:
Yes, we're still here and finally back with new song clips. For the Live Track Of The Month, we raided the vaults at CBC and found "Wood River" from one of Connie's many radio shows, this one circa the late 80's.
We're starting a new feature called "Band Members Past & Present". Connie hasn't had a set studio band to speak of, so many diverse musicians have made contributions to her albums over the years. In this section I provided entries describing their studio work with Connie, and brief bios of their own musical careers. This section will continue to grow as we add more entries, photos and links to the other artists' websites.
Find out about a little piece of Canadian history at "Pier 21" and hear a clip from the song commemorating it's reopening in 1999.
On the discography page, we're leaving up the "Calais, Maine" song clip and dedicating it to the seven astronauts of the Space Shuttle Columbia who, to paraphrase President Bush, "did not make it back to earth, but found their way home" on February 1.
December 2, 2002:
Happy holidays! CKUSA is celebrating by spotlighting the songs from "New Songs For An Old Celebration" by Connie Kaldor and Roy Forbes. All eleven songs are featured in their entirety, but on different pages throughout the site. It's up to you to find them! (though you can probably guess where "Mincemeat Tart" is...)
The complete lyrics for "New Songs" are accessible through the Discography page.
He wants it, he wants it! Find out how to "Give Roy A Mincemeat Tart".
Want egg nog with a kick this year, with the best chocolate chip cookies period on the side? Check out "Have The Egg Nog..."
New Live Track, Connie and Hart Rouge cuts.
November 4, 2002: New Connie Kaldor song clips, Hart Rouge clips and Live Track of the Month. You can now access lyrics on the Discography page. Just click on the "&"! The Saskatchewan Slideshow will return in March, with links to the Saskatchewan Tourism Authority. Perhaps at that time when you're planning your summer vacation, you can heed Connie's suggestion of "Why Aren't You Here?" The October "Say Hay" concert was a great success. Find the link to read all about it as well as more opportunities to send support under Help Canadian Prairie Farmers.
